Welcome to The Boat Shed
Secluded Cottage Accommodation Sandford Tasmania
The Boat Shed is a modern, comfortable cottage, set on a waterfront peninsula, overlooking Ralph’s Bay and beyond, to the riverfront suburbs of Hobart and Mount Wellington. Located in an outer suburb of Hobart, The Boat Shed is just 20 minutes from the domestic airport.
From the cottage, you cannot help but take in the extraordinary water views. Apart from the appearance of one or two windsurfers on the right day or the occasional bush walker, there is total privacy and solitude.
Suitable for a couple, or single, wanting to chill out ….
See the sights of southern Tasmania or simply stay at home. Read from our extensive range of books, magazines and games, walk along the beach and native reserve, or view the native birds and wildlife in the area.

What our guests are saying
We arrived late at night and were tired and hungry. What a wonderful surprise when we found all the goodies ready for us and even greater surprise when we woke in the morning to find the beautiful bay view! Thank you for a wonderful and unique stay at The Boat Shed. See you soon!Michael and Samantha, Zurich, Switzerland
Just to let you know that The Boat Shed is by far and away THE best accommodation we encountered during our two weeks driving through your wonderful state – and that includes places three times as expensive at Strahan and large hotels in the major cities!!! Well done, your Boat Shed is a credit to you both and when we next visit Tassie, we’ll base ourselves there and wander around the countryside at our leisure.Graham and Melissa, Cairns, Queensland
Being in hospitality, it was a pleasure to enjoy your part of Paradise. Views, walks, and a beautiful well-appointed “Boat Shed” is the best. See you next year. It is a credit to you both. It is a blessing that you share with other people.Colin and Laureen, Toowoomba, Queensland
